"Dana Hardy is an invaluable resource as a lactation consultant. As a mom of 3, I have worked with a variety of lactation consultants and have had various outcomes with my attempts at breastfeeding. What I found with Dana is that she is able to be the rock in the storm—when the sleep is at its least, the hormones are at their most intense, and all the emotions are at their peak, Dana is able to provide calm, firm advice that is backed by research and she does it in an encouraging and reassuring manner. Being mom to a newborn, even the third time, can be isolating and overwhelming. When I became worried or unsure, it was incredible to have Dana as the lifeline. I don’t think it is coincidental that my third try at breast-feeding has also been my most successful—I give Dana much of the credit for that. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a strong, stable, well informed support on their breast feeding journey—and who doesn’t? :)" -Christy
"I lived abroad for the entirety of my pregnancy where little, if anything, was mentioned to me by my doctor about breastfeeding. Much to my surprise, when I went back to deliver in America my doctor there did not offer up any education either. In fact, I never received lactation counseling post-delivery and when I asked if anybody would be stopping by before discharge to offer any the nurse answered, “Why? The baby is feeding fine.” Similarly, upon follow-up with my OB and pediatrician, the routine questions seemed to always focus on whether or not I was showing any signs of postpartum depression not whether breastfeeding was going well. Thankfully, Dana offered up her services to me immediately upon learning I was pregnant! Without her I would have most certainly felt lost and overwhelmed trying to navigate a sea of endless resources, recommendations, opinions, techniques and supplies all on my own. Dana eagerly recommended her favored instructional websites and was always available to answer questions or offer personalized classes. I moved back overseas shortly after the birth and to my relief, Dana remained a constant resource throughout all 13 months I breastfed. She regularly checked-in despite living time zones away and readily offered new tips and strategies with each issue I encountered. Dana’s passion, patience, knowledge and persistence were undoubtedly vital to my breastfeeding success." - Abbey E.
